ZBLAN fibers can transmit single-mode light up to a wavelength of 4 μm by adjusting the core diameter and NA. SMFF(single mode fluoride fiber) can transmit light more stably than MFF and is more suitable for accurate spectroscopy. In particular, there are many strong absorption bands due to C-H and N-H vibration at a wavelength band of 3 μm. Non-doped SMFF is commonly used in infrared spectroscopy as an optical guide.
